After starting a family, Marli decided to join Pinecrest Farm in 1997 as head coach and trainer. Over her twelve year involvement with Pinecrest she was an active associate, playing a key role in building and evolving the business. In 2008 the owners of Pinecrest Farm transferred out west and Marli was given the opportunity to lease and completely take over the equestrian facility. Tiffany Koen - Assistant Stable Manager
Information to come.
When I first began riding, I rode extensively on the hunter circuit, on many different breeds and levels of horses. For several seasons I showed successfully, and won reserve champion in the OVHSSA. Looking for a new challenge, I began classical dressage training and this would quickly become my passion.
In dressage, the rider learns to work closely with the horse, aware of each movement, balance and execution in a wonderful partnership.
I competed on the dressage trillium circuit with my morgan/quarter horse mare and finished 1st overall in Eastern Ontario and 2nd in the province for our class, at the provincial championships.
I then spent time as a stable manager and completed my rider levels up to rider level 3 ~ equivalent to rider level 8 under Equine Canada’s new system.
After some time away for university, marriage, and our first child, I returned to dressage, riding a Belgium warm blood that had been shown extensively on the hunter/jumper circuit in Florida. We were able to successfully train him in dressage, and showed him on the gold dressage show circuit with test scores in the mid 60 %, winning some of our classes.
Now after further time off for our 2nd and last child, I have returned to riding with the purchase of my new partner ~ a beautiful Irish sport horse. We train with an Equine Canada certified coach who specializes in classical dressage training. I recently became certified in standard CPR through St. John Ambulance, and am currently working toward my Competition Coach Certification with Equine Canada.
Whether it is to introduce you to classical dressage or to perfect training level movements, I am excited to work with you and your equine partner. Together, our goal will be to produce balanced, supple, relaxed horses.
